Dr. Lisa Cleckner joins Syracuse CoE

The Syracuse CoE is pleased to announce that Dr. Lisa B. Cleckner has joined the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems as the Manager of Quality Control and Quality Assurance.  In her role, Dr. Cleckner will lead the efforts in development assistance, oversight, and compliance of QA/QC programs associated with the research and devlopment activities across all of Syracuse CoE's academic and industrial partners.

 

 

In her previous position at the NYIEQ Center Dr. Cleckner was responsible for working with businesses and academic institutions on applied research and technology transfer projects in the area of environmental quality. She also identified and wrote grants for the NYIEQ Center and its partner organizations, and was successful in helping to obtain funding from the US Department of Labor, NYSERDA, the National Science Foundation, and US EPA for Central and Upstate NY businesses and universities.

Dr. Cleckner earned her Ph.D. in Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Michigan, and previously worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where her research groups performed studies focused on the biogeochemical cycling of pollutants in the Great Lakes and Florida Everglades ecosystems.

 

Dr. Cleckner also earned an MBA at the Simon School at the University of Rochester and completed an internship with ExxonMobil Chemical focused on the areas of business process and e-business.

 

Lisa is a returning Central New Yorker with significant ties to the area.  Her father was stationed at the former Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome.  She graduated from Rome Free Academy and earned a bachelor of arts in biology from Colgate University.
