Sponsorship Opportunities

The 13th annual SyracuseCoE Symposium: Urban Reinvention and Resilience, organized by the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (SyracuseCoE) features the latest results from collaborators across the nation and beyond that are developing innovations and research in advanced building technologies, clean and renewable energy, healthy buildings, indoor environmental quality, sustainable communities, sustainable materials management, and water resources.

The SyracuseCoE Symposium draws a diverse audience of academic and corporate researchers, innovators, technologists, business owners, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, business and community leaders, manufacturers, graduate and undergraduate students and more.

Day One of Symposium will be dedicated to SyracuseCoE Partners and other collaborators in our inaugural "Partner Day," featuring workshops and panel discussions on industrial heat recovery technologies, licensing university intellectual property, and industry-driven research. Monday will also feature a Plenary Panel on New York State's Emerging Clean Energy Economy, and a panel on NYS Leadership for Investing in Retrofitting led by Silda Spitzer. US EPA Deputy Administrator Bob Perciasepe will deliver the Symposium Keynote, "The Nexus of Cities and the National Sustainability Agenda."

An evening Symposium networking reception will take place from 5-7pm, which will include a Student Poster Competition highlighting recent research projects from undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. students.

Day Two of Symposium will feature sessions on revitalization efforts, product advancement, and analysis and research in the areas of Technology for Urban Resilience, Commercializing Innovations, and Urban Ecosystems. Joe Cortright, President and Principal Economist at Impresa, Inc., will provide the Closing Keynote.

Specific topics that will be addressed include advanced building technologies, clean and renewable energy, healthy buildings, indoor environmental quality, sustainable communities, sustainable materials management, and water resources.

Special Workshops

On Monday, Brenda Griffin from the Construction Materials Management Center and Kevin Stack from Northeast Natural Homes will present a four-hour workshop: "Introduction to Construction Materials Management - LEAN Strategies for Safe, Profitable Jobsites."

Join us throughout the Symposium for several workshops on the energy and business opportunities available from capturing waste heat and cooling from industrial processes as part of an integrated approach to energy planning and management, led by Peter Garforth of Garforth International, LLC.
