Mission

The purpose of the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems is to create jobs and wealth in New York State through collaborations in research, development, and education.
 
The mission of SyracuseCoE is to create innovations in environmental and energy technologies that improve human health and productivity, security, and sustainability in urban and built environments.
 
The vision of SyracuseCoE is to earn international recognition for development of knowledge and products in environmental and energy systems for built and urban environments.


Photo: In August 2009 a demonstration rain garden was dedicated at a residential home in Syracuse's Near Westside Neighborhood. The rain garden was a collaboration among SyracuseCoE, the Environmental Finance Center, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County, Home HeadQuarters, Syracuse University, and others, including, of course, the homeowners.
