Flow Visualization Lab
The new flow visualization lab, located in the lab wing of the Syracuse Center of Excellence, is headed by Syracuse University assistant professor Melissa Green. Professor Green uses the lab to visualize the complex dynamics of fluid flows by using sheets of laser light to illuminate dyes injected in a water channel.
Melissa Green is excited to perform fluid dynamics experiments using the water tunnel, designed and built by Engineering Laboratory Design Inc. She will use this device to better understand force, weight, and vortex dynamics.
Her goal is to better understand efficiencies in water specifically energy harvesting and propulsion efficiency.
