SyracuseCoE has invested $8.7 million to create new facilities that will help companies and universities develop new products to improve energy efficiency in buildings. Investments at SyracuseCoE Headquarters include laboratories and “testbeds” for the New York Energy Regional Innovation Cluster, a pioneering statewide alliance that is focused on achieving breakthroughs in energy efficiency in buildings.
New laboratories at SyracuseCoE Headquarters opening this spring include facilities to focus on combustion and thermal power systems; biofuel production; flow visualization; photovoltaic power; wind power; and smart buildings technologies.
SyracuseCoE opened its Headquarters, with a dedication ceremony on March 5, 2010. The HQ's award-winning design is meant to showcase and create a test bed for innovations in environmental and energy systems.
