- $26 million committed by New York Governor George E. Pataki for premier facilities available for research and development, including $16 million that will be used to design and construct a headquarters facility for the CoE in downtown Syracuse;
- $28.2 million secured by Congressman James T. Walsh for projects funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy;
- $15.9 million awarded in May 2001 by the New York State Office of Science, Technology, and Academic Research (NYSTAR) to establish the EQS STAR Center; and
- $2.6 million secured by New York State Assemblyman William Magnarelli for projects administered by the NYIEQ Center, including its Commercialization Assistance Program.
